Buy and sell UCOME biodiesel

UCOME (Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester) is Europe's most traded waste-based biodiesel and the benchmark B100 component for double-counting blending value. Producers, blenders and obligators trade it against EN 14214 specifications — we connect the verified counterparties.

What is UCOME (Waste-Based Biodiesel)?

  • FAME biodiesel produced from used cooking oil, complying with EN 14214
  • Waste/residue based under RED II/III — counting double towards transport targets in several member states (subject to national rules)
  • The standard high-value blend component for B7 through B100 and heating oil applications
  • Traded in road tankers, ISO containers and barges; typical parcels 24-30 mt truck up to 2,000-4,000 mt vessel

Typical trading specifications

  • Ester content: ≥ 96.5% (EN 14103)
  • Density (15°C): 860-900 kg/m³
  • Sulphur: ≤ 10 mg/kg
  • Flash point: ≥ 101°C (EN ISO 3679)
  • Standard: EN 14214; sustainability proof via ISCC EU/REDcert + Nabisy

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between UCOME and regular FAME?

Chemically both are fatty acid methyl esters. UCOME is made specifically from used cooking oil, which makes it a waste-based biofuel under RED II/III. That waste origin — proven by ISCC or REDcert documentation — is what drives its double-counting value versus crop-based SME or RME.

How is UCOME priced?

Usually as a differential to FAME 0% or gasoil futures (FOBAR/ICE), quoted in USD or EUR per metric tonne. The platform shows indicative market levels in the live ticker; the exact differential is negotiated per parcel, volume and delivery basis.

What documentation travels with a UCOME cargo?

Typically the EN 14214 certificate of quality analysis (CoA), proof of sustainability (PoS) under ISCC EU or REDcert, Nabisy registration for German quantities, and standard trading documents. Buyers can request these before the introduction is released.

Can I buy smaller UCOME volumes, like one truck?

Yes. Offers range from single road tankers (24-30 mt) to vessel cargoes. Post a request with your target volume, spec and delivery window and verified suppliers respond with bids.
